Inclement weather is affecting college operations.

CHANGE IN OPERATIONS

Due to inclement weather, Lees-McRae College is operating with emergency protocols and modified conditions.

All in-person classes will be held virtually on Monday, February 23. Faculty will communicate with their students directly through Brightspace about remote responsibilities for coursework and assignments.

Weather Forecast

A Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service remains in effect through Midnight. Snow accumulations up to three inches are expected. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. Freezing temperatures and extreme wind chills will persist. 

Please use caution when walking around campus as ice may be present on sidewalks, stairways, and asphalt. Road conditions will vary.

Modified Operations

  • The MontiBUS Shuttle will not operate.
     
  • Dining Services will operate as follows:
    • The Summit Dining Hall will open at 8 a.m. for breakfast with regular lunch and dinner hours.
    • South Campus Fueling Station will open for brunch 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. and for dinner 4:30–7 p.m.
    • Pinnacle Room will be closed.
    • Genuine Grab and Go will be closed.
       
  • The Shelton Learning Commons will open 2-7 p.m.
     
  • The Exchange will open 1-5 p.m.
     
  • The Arthur Student Recreation Complex (SRC) will open
    9
     a.m.–6 p.m.

Students

Students are encouraged to remain on campus with vehicles parked in permitted lots to aid in snow removal. Should travel be necessary, students should use their own judgement when determining when it is safe to drive.

Employees

Essential staff should verify their on-campus schedules with their supervisors. All other employees should work remotely on Monday. Administrative offices will resume normal hours on Tuesday.
