Inclement weather is affecting college operations.

CHANGE IN OPERATIONS

Due to inclement weather, Lees-McRae College is operating with emergency protocols and modified conditions.

Administrative offices on campus will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 23. All in-person classes will be held virtually prior to opening. Faculty will communicate with their students directly through Brightspace about remote responsibilities for coursework and assignments.

Weather Forecast

A Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service remains in effect through Midnight on Monday. Snow accumulations and strong gusting winds are expected. Freezing temperatures and extreme wind chills will persist.

Please use caution when walking around campus as ice may be present on sidewalks, stairways, and asphalt. Road conditions will vary.

Modified Operations

  • The MontiBUS Shuttle will begin service at 8:30 a.m.
     
  • Dining Services will operate as follows:
    • The Summit Dining Hall will open at 8 a.m. for breakfast with regular lunch and dinner hours.
    • South Campus Fueling Station will open 10 a.m.–
      4 p.m.
    • Pinnacle Room will open 9 a.m.–10 p.m.
    • Genuine Grab and Go will open 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • The Shelton Learning Commons will open 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • The Exchange will open 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • The Arthur Student Recreation Complex (SRC) will open
    9 a.m.–6 p.m.

Students

Students, including residents and commuters, should use their own judgement when determining when it is safe to drive. Students who are unable to travel should make use of the Montibus shuttle and/or contact their professors.

Students should park only in permitted lots to aid in snow and ice removal.

Employees

Administrative offices will open 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Essential staff should verify their schedules with their supervisors. All other employees should return to campus at 9 a.m. or as directed by their supervisors.

Employees should use their own judgement when determining when it is safe to drive. Employees who are unable to travel to campus should contact their supervisors.
