**Cheboygan County Residents: Progress Continues Amid Ongoing Recovery Efforts**
Cheboygan County, MI – The Cheboygan County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Office of Emergency Management, is pleased to report significant progress in the restoration of power and infrastructure within our community following the recent storm. Our dedicated power and utility partners have been working tirelessly to restore electricity to both businesses and residences throughout the county.
We are grateful for the efforts of the Cheboygan County Road Commission and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), which have made remarkable strides in clearing primary roads and major trunk lines. However, we would like to remind residents that our extensive network of secondary roads will require additional time to restore due to the large number of downed power lines and fallen trees.
Travel conditions may still be hazardous. We urge residents to exercise caution while navigating the roadways. Please remain alert for potential obstacles and exercise patience as our teams continue their essential work.
We have four shelters actively supporting residents, welcoming those who need assistance. It is amazing to see the community come together during this critical time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we address ongoing concerns and challenges; this recovery effort is a marathon, not a sprint.
Our community has consistently demonstrated resilience, strength, and a willingness to support one another during difficult times. Your kindness and cooperation are truly inspiring, and we will continue to update you as we progress through this recovery phase.
